Bernstorffsparken, Copenhagen

Bernstorffsparken is probably not on many tourist maps highlighting the outdoor treasures of Europe. Nonetheless, the park - rife with running dogs, grazing horses, and dozens of small streams and ponds - is definitely a treasure of semi-wild public space. And while it may not be "postcard worthy" (you won't see it on the Travel Channel), it is one of our favorite places in Copenhagen - especially in fall! Below, we hope you will see why.
